I've been captivated by Susannah Breslin's blog, The Reverse Cowgirl, since I first came across it about a month and a half ago. I think what it boils down to is sex. Breslin writes about sex, and sex is interesting. In her writing she accomplishes something that is rare: she is able to discuss the adult movie industry, sex work, and the role sex plays in our culture while being neither crass and hedonistic nor puritanical. Breslin provides a refreshing perspective that is all too often absent from the "porn is good/porn is bad" and "prostitution is fine/prostitution is evil" debates. She has two other blog-projects, Letters from Working Girls and Letters from Johns, which offer intimate glances into the experiences of sex workers and their clients.
All the links are pretty safe for work. The Reverse Cowgirl one features one of those new American Apparel ads that shows nipples 16% of the time. You can find a discussion of the ads here.

Breslin's post on attorneys general and the "adult movie industry" falls significantly short by over-focusing on obscenity/free speech and neglecting to examine the role attorneys general play in terms of child pornography legislation and anti-trafficking-in-persons initiatives. In the same post, Breslin's characterization (however tongue and cheek) of sexual violence against women as a pattern of "porn taking sex to the outer limits" further undermines any credibility.
Breslin's emphasis on the importance of historical awareness is refreshing.
